A customer facing website, which provides details of upcoming works in the area.

Potential to monetise as a service to data providers.

Also, harnesses the greatest stakeholder of them all, the customer. Raising profile of SOCC and making noise to show the usefulness of the product to the public.

    Hi Duncan, thanks for sharing your idea. There have been discussions about making works data available to the public and this is something to consider as a potential future add-on to the product. The product's current purpose is to facilitate works collaboration between utilities, councils and other entities. Previous studies determined that the current data may not be suitable for a public facing website, as other fields are commonly requested such as hyperlinks to council website resources, images, funding details, project purpose etc. We also want to encourage subscribers to load speculative works into the platform that may only happen with a collaboration opportunity. We encourage subscribers to use ArcGIS Online for the hosting of their public facing web application which can contain whatever additional detail they require for sharing. I'm sure this topic will generate some interesting views so I propose we take it to the next SOCC user group meeting for a broader discussion.
